Public Interfaith Prayer Service - 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2017
at lynching site, end of Waterworks Ave., opposite 1018 N. Second St.
*Rain or shine, events will continue.
1917 marks the 125th Anniversary of the lynching deaths of these men. The Downtown Clergy Association will be holding this brief outdoor prayer service to honor the memory of William Stewart, Thomas Moss and Calvin McDowell.
Thomas Moss was a close friend of Ida B. Wells. It was this lynching that launched her historic anti-lynching campaign across the country.
All are welcome at this prayer service.
