Re-Dedication of the "Forrest and the Memphis Slave Trade" marker

Feast of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Join us Wednesday, April 7, at 12:05 p.m. for Holy Eucharist in Calvary Park in observance of the Feast of Martin Luther King, three years after Calvary dedicated a new historical marker at the site of a market for enslaved people run by Nathan Bedford Forrest. The marker was damaged in 2020, and will be reinstalled for this service. We will also say again the prayers from our Service of Remembrance and Reconciliation on April 4, 2018, and recommit ourselves to the work of racial justice. The Rev. Dorothy Wells will be our preacher.
