Inspired by the Emmett Till Unsolved Civil Rights Crimes Act of 2008, WKNO examines two stories from West Tennessee: the lynching of Elbert Williams in 1940 in Brownsville and the police killing of 17-year-old Larry Payne in Memphis a week before Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated.

Join Lynching Sites Project and WKNO for this special outdoor screening with food and fellowship. We will be meeting in the parking lot of Caritas, now known as The Village, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15. Please bring a lawn chair and/or blanket along with a favorite comfort food.

For the first hour, we will eat, socialize and reflect on this past year. The second hour will include the screening and a discussion afterward.
