Documentary Screening of ACCIDENTAL COURTESY
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Ford Motor Company Theater at the Civil Rights Museum
In ACCIDENTAL COURTESY, Daryl Davis' 30-year journey takes him across the country, from DC to California, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, and Alabama, from old friends who have left the klan to friends still active in the organization, including a current Imperial Wizard of the KKK.
In an age of digital disconnection, Daryl’s method is rooted in personal interactions to overcome racial hatred by asking the burning question, "How can you hate me when you don't even know me?"
Following the film, Davis will conduct a Q&A with Scott Shepherd, an ex-klansman he encountered during his pursuit of racial reconciliation. Free and open to the public; registration is recommended.
