A Conversation with Anthony Ray Hinton
10:00 am - 11:30 am at the Orpheum Theatre (203 S. Main St. 38103)

Join Facing History and Ourselves for a conversation with Anthony Ray Hinton, author of The Sun Does Shine:  How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row, a powerful account of human dignity and hope and the fight for justice.  Mr. Hinton was wrongly convicted of two murders outside of Birmingham, Alabama in 1985, and spent nearly 30 years on death row before he was exonerated in 2015.  Today, Mr. Hinton works as a Community Educator for the Equal Justice Initiative.

Mr. Hinton will lead a discussion about his own experiences and the continued fight for justice in American, followed by a Q&A.
