Reception at 6:00pm
Film Showing at 7:00pm
National Civil Rights Museum
LSP member Tom Carlson's research and work was a huge part in the making of this film, and he worked exceedingly hard with director Matteo Servente. When "An Accidental Drowning" was first screened at Playhouse on the Square Mr. Charlie Morris (brother of Jesse Lee Bond) was unable to be present. When the film, whose only character is Mr. Morris, won an award, Tom sought for a way to have Mr. Morris be personally honored for his central role and contribution to the film as well as to the whole story.
Tom wrote to the NCR Museum requesting that they at least send Mr. Morris a letter of commendation. They responded that this showing of the film might be the best place to honor him.
Both Mr. Morris and his cousin, Mr. Sylvester Lewis will be there, and we hope to show our support to Tom by having as many members of the LSP as possible in attendance as well. Please come if you can.
