Rest in Peace, Dear Clarence by David Marshall

Oliver Casper was the associate editor of AP London when he came to Memphis to research lynchings across the south east. It was through the Lynching Sites Project Of Memphis, Tennessee that Ollie met Clarence.

To say that Clarence and Ollie were friends is a gross understatement.  I watched bonding, electricity,  reverence, for everything this Eton Educated, American born, British raised and educated, person was in the presence of Clarence.

Before the first meeting ended, Clarence had Oliver Clasper AP associate editor London, in the garden explaining early spring and planting in the mid south. Watching Ollie and Clarence Christian in those moments was an awareness there of deep reference for the goodness, the fruits that Clarence produced in his time here in Memphis.
