My Friends;
Thank you. Thank you for the opportunity to serve as the Lynching Sites Project Board President. It has been an honor this past year to share in the journey with this group. In this last year, LSP elected a board which has met faithfully and always with both heart and mind. Thoughtful reflection on mission and vision and striving to be true to our goals has been central to this governing board. To further this and ensure our long-term sustainability for LSP, we are working together as a board and with the larger LSP group to create a Strategic Plan with Give Back Memphis consultants, Dorothy Johnson and Susanne Landau, so that our crucial work is here and turning the light of truth for generations to come. And the good work continues. Always.
Iris Love-Scott, as VP will serve as the Transitional Board President position until an elected President is elected. The Board will continue its conversation with the Nominating Committee to work on a smooth process for succession. Thank you to the Nominating Committee for their important work.
Again, it has been an honor to serve as LSP’s first Board President. I will remain a board member as I move into serving as Interim Dean at St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral. Again, thank you for this sacred time together; I am a more whole human being because of our work together.
In gratitude for the journey together,
Laura
