Introductions, Shared Silence, Agenda Items:
(1) 30 Second celebrations
(2) A New Plan for Monday Meetings -
A Proposal:
That the time from 5-6 p.m. be given to our priority goal of “BUILDING TRUST” (listening to one another, getting connected), planned program with speakers, and announcements,…
And that 6-7 p.m. be used for more detailed attention to planning and organization items, sometimes in subcommittees or subgroups.
Reasoning for this proposal: (1) We are growing. Some of our meetings have had as many as 30 people present, which is too many for doing effective planning. (2) We have set silence, prayer, listening and trust-building as priority goals. We need time to make this possible. (3) We began in November 2010 with “listening circles,” being sure that each voice in the circle was heard. (4) For Jan. 23 we will have a guest, Mr. Tim Good of the National Park Service from the St. Louis area who has been such a support in getting funding for markers for the Memphis Massacre Commemoration and for the Ell Persons site. We would like to have a half hour or so to hear from him.
(3) Budget for 2017
(4) We welcome John Ashworth as Project Manager for the May 21 City-Wide Interfaith Prayer Service.
(5) We welcome Kirstin Cheers as our new Media Strategist.
