Description:
Dr. Caputo will be delivering a lecture entitled "The Cross and the Lynching Tree and a Postmodern Postscript" as part of the Religion and Philosophy Department's Distinguished Catholic Lectors Series on Thursday, February 2 in Spain Auditorium at Christian Brothers University.

This lecture is free and open to the public.

John D. Caputo is an American philosopher who is the Thomas J. Watson Professor of Religion Emeritus at Syracuse University and the David R. Cook Professor of Philosophy Emeritus at Villanova University. Caputo is a renowned Derrida scholar, a major figure associated with Postmodern Christianity, a prominent scholar in Continental Philosophy of Religion, as well as the founder of the theological movement known as weak theology. Much of Caputo's work focuses on hermeneutics, phenomenology, deconstruction and theology.
